Coronavirus Impact: Premier Warns Says NSW Economy Suffers Biggest Fall in 20 Years

Premier Warns warned that NSW is yet to feel the “severe” economic consequences of COVID-19, despite the biggest contraction in its economy in 20 years.

This week the State Government dumped its plan to renovate Sydney Olympic Stadium, so the $810 million earmarked for that project could be directed into a $3 billion infrastructure fund, which aims to generate 20,000 jobs.

Australia is continuing to ease coronavirus restrictions across the country as pubs open for the first time in two months. 

In Victoria, the state with the toughest restrictions, skate parks reopened and up to 20 people can gather for a party – outdoors or indoors.
