Coronavirus Australia Update: Two New Cases In Victoria, Three in NSW

There are concerns of a spike in coronavirus cases in the coming weeks after thousands of protesters attended rallies across Australia at the weekend.

Two new cases have been recorded in Victoria in the past 24 hours.

Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton said anyone who marched at the weekend and gets sick needs to get tested immediately.

Masks are Now Mandatory on Public Transport in England

England’s Government now requires everyone to wear masks on buses, trains, tubes, and other means of transportation. The rule is effective from 15th June until further notice.

There is a relief for non-essential businesses as they will be allowed to reopen.

Government sources are confident that these measures will help lower the spread of the disease. However, there is an exception for children under the age of two who aren’t supposed to be covering their faces.

Warning: Mass Protests Will Set Off a Second Viral Wave Of Coronavirus

Thousands of people are expected at the marches to protest against police brutality and show support for Indigenous Australians.

But authorities are concerned social distancing will be breached and marchers could become infected with COVID-19.

Victorian Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton has urged people not to attend the Melbourne demonstration. Up to 20,000 people are expected at the march in Melbourne.

“We are concerned about the potential for a second wave of Coronavirus,” Ms. Mikakos said, urging protesters to contact their MPs instead.
